Shell T&T - Our Social Investment Strategy

Shell Trinidad and Tobago aims to create measurable, positive social impact at the community and national level, and contribute to the achievement of national priorities, through increasing access to education, skills and economic opportunities and improving access to energy.

Our social investment strategy seeks to contribute to economic diversification and livelihood development through STREAM education, community skills and enterprise development, and education.

STREAM Education

For the past seven (7) years, Shell has delivered its national Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education programme to secondary schools across Trinidad and Tobago. The programme was designed to enhance students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills while offering opportunities for career exposure in STEM related fields. As the programme exposed over 19,000 persons to STEM education, with over 10,000 students and over 500 teachers trained, we are expanding our scope to now include Research and the Arts, as we move from STEM to STREAM.

The Shell LiveWIRE programme seeks to support growth-stage businesses in key economic sectors including Energy Solutions, Environmental Solutions, Agriculture and Food Processing, Eco-Tourism and Innovative B2B Solutions. The programme offers participants access to training, coaching and consultancy, and peer to peer networking opportunities with past participants and business owners.

STREAM Education

For over 7 years, Shell Trinidad and Tobago has been supporting STEM education in Trinidad and Tobago. We have touched thousands of students across the country with our programme and as we make the transition from STEM to STREAM, we are excited to reimagine the future together.

Shell LiveWIRE

Shell LiveWIRE is a social investment programme geared towards building entrepreneurship in young Trinbagonians. The programme first began in Scotland in 1982 and has since grown to a total of 17 active programmes globally (check). Ultimately, LiveWIRE aims to encourage enterprise awareness among the youth of T&T, supporting international trade and local innovation in the process.

Shell Trinidad and Tobago Limited recognizes the powerful work that Non-Governmental Oranisations and Community Based Organisations do in the economic and social development of Trinidad and Tobago. We are privileged to be able to support the critical work that is being done and we invite you to submit your request for funding using the form below.

Non-profit organizations are encouraged to submit proposals if they meet our general eligibility criteria. We are primarily guided by the themes of our Social Investment strategy on STREAM Education, Economic Diversification and Livelihood development.
