Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE)
The safety of our people is our number one priority in Shell. Our Goal Zero objective – of no harm to people is at the heart of what we do at Shell.
We work with stakeholders across all aspects of our operations to relentlessly pursue this goal – from communities, to our contractors to protect our people and lesson our environmental impacts.
We operate with an integrated HSSE Management System which manages all factors that have the potential to influence our operations. Our HSSE Management System conforms to the requirements of Shell’s HSSE & SP Control Framework, and the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standard, to which STTL is currently certified.
At STTL we recognize the value that Safety Leadership also plays in achieving Goal Zero and have embarked on initiatives that will further personalize safety through human interrelationships between systems and continuous improvement.
Everyone who works in our organization has an important role to play in making Shell a safer place to work. We expect people to take personal responsibility in three (3) ways:
- to comply with the safety rules and regulations relevant to their work;
- to intervene to prevent unsafe conditions; and
- to respect fellow workers and the communities in which we work.
We are also committed to reducing our emissions and continue our efforts to improve energy efficiency thereby reducing our Carbon Footprint. The management of greenhouse gas emissions is key to our risk mitigation activity with environmental, strategic and economic importance.
